Tonopah has 6 portable traffic count stations. U.S. Hwy 6 runs through Tonopah on an east-west route from Utah to California. U.S. Hwy 95 runs through Tonopah on a north-south route between Reno and Las Vegas. The section of both highways join from Tonopah to Coaldale, this is the route US-6/US-95 reflected on the above chart. The drop in traffic along US-6/US-95 (in Tonopah 100 ft. south of Bryan Ave.) can possibly be attributed to the closing of the copper mine in Tonopah in the year 2001.
