Rates & Info ELECTRIC Each area of Nye County is serviced by one of the two electric
companies listed below. To determine which company is available in a region,
please look at the preceding charts which contain a breakdown by town. Valley
Electric Association is an electric cooperative.
For rates and additional information: PROPANE Natural gas is not currently being used within the Nye County area. Propane tanks are rented or purchased, and a participating company delivers the propane. Commercial rates for propane vary depending upon business type and usage and therefore are not noted here. Rates were obtained from Pahrump companies and may differ by region.
TELEPHONE Either AT&T or Frontier Communications provides phone services in the Nye County area, depending on location. Please check the preceding charts to determine who provides service in a given area. There are a number of cellular phone companies that provide services in Nye County. It would be best to compare based on coverage, especially in the remote rural locations.
WATER/SEWER Each town is supplied with water and/or sewer services through different companies, based on location. Some of the towns that are not serviced by a utility company allow for the installation of a private well and/or septic system. Please check the preceding charts to determine what each given area requires. Each individual town establishes the guidelines for its town. In Pahrump, the location of the property within the town determines which company is used or if a well and septic system is needed.
The above listed rates were as of February 2008 and are provided as a guideline only. Rates are subject to change without notice by the specified companies. |
