Private Schools Community Christian Academy (K-8) The Community Christian Academy is a ministry of the Pahrump Community Church. The school opened its doors in September 1998. Their emphasis is on providing academic excellence in a Christian environment. They use the A Beka curriculum, which is a well-respected Christian based curriculum with a strong emphasis on phonics and comprehensive math. The Pahrump Community Church is non-denominational and there are no religious qualifications established for enrolling a student. The school operates on a "Certificate of Exemption" provided by the State of Nevada and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. Current enrollment for the year 2005-2006 is over 110 students for K-8. The school covers Preschool through 8th grade. Horizon Academy (7-12) Horizon Academy is a private year-round boarding school located in the Amargosa Valley, specifically designed to help teens that are struggling academically or socially in the public school system. They use a progressive academic curriculum, which is individual and competency based. Their emphasis is on creating a safe, structured environment with a focus of multidimensional education that will enable a student to explore their individual needs and abilities. They opened in June 2005. Current enrollment for the year 2006-2007 is 203 students. The school covers 7th through 12th grade.
New Hope Christian Academy (K-8) The New Hope Christian Academy is a ministry of New Hope Fellowship. They use the A Beka curriculum, which is a well-respected Christian based curriculum with a strong emphasis on phonics and comprehensive math. Even though the church is foursquare, the school is non-denominational in its teaching and there are no religious qualifications established for enrolling a student. The school is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. Current enrollment for the year 2005-2006 is 120 students for K-12. The school covers Preschool through 12th grade. |
