Central Nevada Museum

The Central Nevada Museum is located at 1900 Logan Field Road in Tonopah. A wealth of information is available at this state-of-the-art museum where many famous characters of the 'Old West' are represented, including Howard Hughes, Tex Rickard, Wyatt Earp and, of course, Jim Butler. The museum has an extensive collection of maps and photos and a constantly growing research library. Researchers are encouraged to take advantage of this impressive repository of information with archives going back over 130 years. The indoor and outdoor displays contain artifacts encompassing our great history, which includes mining, ranching, and pioneer life as well as the influence of the Western Shoshone tribe. You'll also find displays that present the geology and plant life of the region. This is a must see on your list of places to visit. Entrance to the museum and research library is free.
